"The Faith and Practice of the Earliest Christians"
6-week course: Sundays @ 10:45 am starting October 6

How did the first Christians practice their faith?  The Didache, an
early handbook for an anonymous Christian community, "is the
most important book you've never heard of."  It spells out a way of
life for Jesus followers, including how to love one another, the
Early Church's stand on abortion, how to practice Baptism and
the Lord's Supper, and how to take in wandering prophets.  Likely
written before many of the New Testament books, this little-known
text can enlighten the way that Christians are church today.

This 6-week DVD led course will explore the text of the Didache
and compare it to other writings within the New Testament.

Cost: $13.00 for companion book, "The Teaching of the 12"

"Jewish Roots: The Heritage of the Christian Faith"
9-week course: Sundays @ 10:45 am starting March 2, 2014

Steeped as we are in modern Western culture, it's easy to forget
that we worship a Jewish Messiah. But Jesus was Jewish, and
Christianity is deeply rooted in Judaism. The first Christians never
thought otherwise because they themselves were Jews. To them,
Christianity was not a different religion from Judaism—it was the
fulfillment of all that was written in the law and the prophets. The
Jewish Roots of Christianity takes you to Jerusalem for eye-opening
insights into the link between Judaism and Christianity.  This 9-week
course includes Bible study and DVD led discussion with modern
day Jewish Christians filmed on location in Jerusalem.  You'll never
look at Judaism - or even some modern day Christian practices - in
the same way again.
